If you come back I'll sing "Moon River" again "Dream A Little Dream" will be A lullaby for you and me I'll sing anything You are a leaf in the wind Following the horizon's gleam Some bright air has Got you chasing a dream Do your best poet stare Head in the clouds so you see the stars You move me When we sing harmony If you come back I'll sing "Moon River" again "Pure Imagination", "Honeysuckle Rose" I'll sing every song we know I read your diary In a postcard you sent to me "I'm one thing I'm only where I've been" You've been here You've been gone Some bright air let us sing another song If you come back I'll sing "Moon River" again "Dream A Little Dream" will be A lullaby for you and me I'll sing anything If you come back I'll sing "Moon River" again "Pure Imagination", mangled "La Vie En Rose" I'll sing every song we know You stay away too long You stay away too long You stay away too long You stay away too long

Let Them In 05:13
Two strangers are knocking at your door More unlike anything You've seen before Paisley jacket Men in hair barrettes Musical instruments Hidden in pockets They Want To live with you They're Here For the interview So open Open Open that door Let them in That door Blasting beats After midnight The new sincerity is Going alright Gentle chaos Are you like us? Work ethic, very polite Midwestern artist types They Have Something to say to you They Think You're really cool So open Open Open that door Let them in That door If you're like a Baby chick Peaking from the shell Trying to see What to bring to Show And Tell They'll hold a mirror for you You'll do it for them too They'll hold a mirror for you You'll do it for them too So open Open Open that door Let them in That door

BB Is A They 02:23
BB is a they It's not that complicated Nothing to see here, folks Nothing R-rated One day they're going to be They'll be a good kisser But they're never going to be A missus or a mister BB BB is a they Tyra is a they But don't get it twisted The world's always been like this Even if you missed it If you can roll with Boy George Without blinking an eye Then you can comprehend This is neither a girl nor a guy BB BB is a they Tyra Tyra is a they I don't need no medal Pinned to my chest Just for giving ordinary Common day respect I don't wanna make this about me Don't make it about you Just call them fucking 'they' It's the least you can do Kadan is a they Don't call them by their old name You act as if they're different but That person is the same People only ask questions about gender But I'd rather talk about Epiphone or Fender BB BB is a they Tyra Tyra is a they Somebody you know They're a they Someone who you "he"-ed Someone who I "she"-ed They're actually a they

We had a moment I saw it in your eyes It happened so sudden It caught me by surprise I heard a laugh I never heard you laugh I saw someone I could hold I smiled a smile That lasted a while I saw a future unfold For me and you We had a moment I really felt it too I felt a softness and A hunger I could give to you I laughed a laugh I hardly laugh As I looked in to you You smiled a smile that lasted a while What did it give to you? What did it give to you? We had a moment But I'm not a romantic fool Sometimes it just happens And there's nothing for you to do But I heard a laugh I never heard you laugh And I wanted to hear it more I smiled a smile that lasted a while And then you looked to the door And then you were gone What did it give to you? What did it give to you? What did it give to you? What did it give to you?

You do something to me That I can't see with my eyes Touch me Make me feel warm You know I can't get enough Like kindling to stoke the fire I need more I need love and I need to hear I just want to hear you say Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms Well meant compliments from friends They only go so far Gifts given are left on the shelf You know I love them all But they're no help Like kindling to stoke the fire I need more I need love and I need more I just want to hear you say Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms Let me hold you in my arms I will love you in my arms

When people tell you They think that you're smart What they really mean is You agree with them Maybe they don't even agree with you And they're shining you on And they're shining you on And they're trying to And they're trying to Trying to shine you on And they're trying to And they're trying to Trying to shine you on When people tell you A story where they seem To be the victor or the victim What they really mean is They're trying to get you on their side And they're shining you on And they're shining you on IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii've Been very naive and trusting In my life Wasn't born cynical something happened in-between Trying to hold on To what I had Sometimes I don't know Why I do what I do I'm no better than anyone I do this too so If you call me on it I'd admit It wouldn't be the first time Am I shining you on? Am I trying to Am I trying to Trying to shine you Am I trying to Am I trying to Trying to shine you Am I trying to Am I trying to Trying to shine you Am I trying to Am I trying to Trying to shine you Am I trying to Am I trying to Trying to shine you

Cali traveled the whole world over You know she found it all the same And the only place that scared her is Her hometown where she had some fame But she found her peace and quiet With the people prone to riot And no one called her a dead name All the boys debating about things They don't care about either way Pam just sits and listens you know She doesn't have too much to say But when the mirror lights her heart Her words'll blow it apart And shine brighter than the day The smartest person in the room But she still cares how you do your hair She's got all these rules about What you is and isn't supposed to wear But she has the balls to say "If I thought you should change I just wouldn't be your friend either way" Resist it all you want Push against it As if you can Resist it all you want Push against it Whatever man Cuz the Alpha Fem You know They don't give a damn And you ain't nothing but a man

You know a little place Say we oughta go To watch the sun set Yeah, watch the show A concrete beach With no one around Just jump that fence And we'll watch the sun go down Grab some ciders And I'm ready to leave Don't need to ask me twice Or tug on my sleeve Who's got a bald head And thinks that sounds fun? You're looking at em Ooooh-wheee Ooooh-wheee Gonna have Have a time Ooooh-wheee We spend all day Making each other laugh You say you're the weirdest person At every job you had But everything you Makes sense to me You're always direct Subtly The most obvious person I've ever known Just watch your eye brows To see where the wind blows Do I wanna join you And watch the sunset show? My heart over flows Ooooh-wheee Ooooh-wheee Gonna have Have a time Ooooh-wheee Ooooh-wheee Ooooh-wheee Gonna have Have a time Ooooh-wheee

Woke up in the middle of the night Had a feeling something's not right So I got out of bed Just to clear my head Looked out at a storm outside It was blowing raw and blowing wild And I stared out the window Just a little while A mist of dark, it dulled the night Everything seemed fight or flight Turning, turning The widening rain drops The whole world seemed shades of gray And half my life was blown away And the trees Were shaking from root to top And I'm just waiting for the wind to stop And I'm just waiting for the wind to stop Some people measure love by the thimble full They're mean and selfish, hypocritical You can't trust them all Trust them with your trust Good old friends will just let you go One day: no call no show But some Will never give you up Still I'm was waiting for the wind to stop Still I'm was waiting for the wind to stop A flash of lightning lit up all the night For a moment everything seemed clear and bright Reminded me it's time to say good night Chamomile tea and double blankets Woolen socks carry me to my bed Not all warmth is divinely sent But I said a prayer Aw, what the heck I wished you well Yeah, all the best I felt As if my heart would pop Cuz I'm still waiting for the wind to stop Cuz I was waiting for the wind to stop And I'm still waiting for the wind to stop And I'm was waiting for the wind to stop

about

This album was very much an attempt to re-create music I'd have loved as young punk. Some politics, some heart, some rock n roll and a good amount of moody folk. Teenage Me smirks and says “It’s alright… I guess.” High praise, of course!

about

Jemmy Joe Olympia, Washington

Jemmy Joe is a twin. An unreliable narrator. An acquired taste. Mixing traditional folk, jazz harmonic taste and a sardonic optimism, Jemmy Joe has been making music for no one his entire, god damn adult life. Though he has very little to show for it, it is the train he is on and will not be jumping off any time soon. ... more
