about

There is a kind of Bob Dylan fan that like everything he has ever done. Every album is worthy, the man can do no wrong. We've all heard of this type of fan, but Jemmy Joe is the only one that Jemmy Joe has ever met.
He carried Bob Dylan's Collected Lyrics around in high school, loves the gospel music and the Christmas album. Yeah. He's *that* kind of fan.

Not his first attempt at reimagining the work of Dylan, but the first to take on a part of the Greatest Hits territory. Taking Dylan's first huge song and reharmonizing the traditional folk sounding tune to a moody blues. Helped tremendously by the emotion and precision of The Unreliable Narrators, the song cooks and smolders where it should and twinkles and whistles in-between those moments. It is a reimagination but hits closer to what the song could have been than Jemmy Joe's usual sharp left turns.

lyrics

How many roads must one man walk before you call him a man? How many seas must the white dove sail before she sleeps in the sand? How many times must the cannonballs fly before they are forever banned?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many years must a mountain exist before it is ground to the sea?
How many years can some people exist before they're allowed to be free? How many times can a man turn his head pretending he just doesn't see?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many times can a man look up before he can see the sky? How many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry? How many deaths will it take till he knows too many people have died?

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

about

Jemmy Joe Olympia, Washington

Jemmy Joe is a twin. An unreliable narrator. An acquired taste. Mixing traditional folk, jazz harmonic taste and a sardonic optimism, Jemmy Joe has been making music for no one his entire, god damn adult life. Though he has very little to show for it, it is the train he is on and will not be jumping off any time soon. ... more
