It must have been something about the falling leaves or how the days are starting to get shorter. Sweater weather makes me think its time to go. But don’t you ever say I never loved you, no. Don’t you ever say I didn’t care please. Baby, believe me. It was just the falling leaves. Maybe in the summer or maybe in spring. Maybe in the winter, we can try again. But don’t you ever say I never loved you, no. Never, ever say I didn’t care please. Baby, believe me. It was just the falling leaves. Baby… believe me…. But don’t you ever say I never loved you. Nope! Never, ever say I didn’t care please. Baby, believe me. It was just the falling leaves. It was just the falling leaves. It was just the falling leaves.

Cherry Moon era Prince is hanging out in my room. Neil Gaiman, Princess Zelda: they’re all there too. On a zither played with scissors, I play this song. Tinsel’s wagging her tail and just singing along. Just then I realize just what this means. That dog’s been dead for twenty years. So this must be a dream. I woke up in dreams, woke in my dreams. Then I found that I was asleep. Heavy metal heroes are chasing the priests, throwing explosions that cause them all to flea. Purple, yellow, red, green and some colors I’ve never seen explode all around me. Its wonderful to see. Then they all turn around to chase somebody new. They give chase but I fly away without a second to lose. I could fly in dreams, fly in my dreams. Then I found that I was asleep. JACOB AND ISAAC! GET OUT OF THE STREET! Can’t you see? Polar bears are coming and you’re delicious to eat. Mining for silver and fishing for gold. Wonderful children. Just do what you told! I float down and lift them up and we fly away. Point for me. Uncle Jemmy Joe saves the day. I woke up in dreams, woke in my dreams. Then I found that I was asleep. I could fly in dreams, fly in my dreams. Then I found that, when I fell down, I was asleep.

Love Letters 03:11
Got these old letters I don’t read anymore. It makes me feel bad they nice things you said before. We argue in my head though we kiss in my dreams. Am I still in love? Huh. I don’t even know what that means. But my feelings aren’t gone. They just get ignored until they go to the place where past emotions are stored. But my feelings aren’t gone. They just get ignored until they go to the place where past emotions are stored. Oh. Is that what that means? Oh. Is that what that means? Feelings get hard and feelings get cold. Yeah. Everybody knows. You don’t need to be told. But give it a little bit of time and maybe you’ll see that happened to you like it happened to me. Those feelings that were hard and those feelings that were cold get a little bit soft and warm and something you love to hold. Those feelings that were hard and those feelings that were cold get a little bit soft and warm and something you love to hold. Oh. Is that what that means? Oh. Is that what that means?

Composed by Jimmy McHugh & Dorothy Fields I'm in the mood for love simply because you're near me. Funny, but when you're near me I'm in the mood for love. Heaven is in your eyes, bright as the stars we're under. Oh! Is it any wonder I'm in the mood for love? Why stop to think of whether This little dream might fade? We've put our hearts together Now we are one, I'm not afraid! Heaven is in your eyes, bright as the stars we're under. Oh! Is it any wonder I'm in the mood for love?

Devon doesn’t like The Beatles. He didn’t like music at all until he heard the wonderful clatter of angry songs. (Tell em about it Devon….) “I didn’t like The Beatles and I don’t like you!” Devon doesn’t like The Beatles, but one thing he’ll admit: they were the favorite band of Lemmy so he’ll acknowledge they exist. “I didn’t like The Beatles and I don’t like you!” As a teen, Devon was always was mad and he was always getting fights with his dad about where he’s been, when he’s coming home and it was always stuff like that. But then one poopy day he got kicked out of his band, got dumped by his girlfriend, he’s going to get it from his dad and walking home in the rain he decided “You know what? Forget it. I’m just going to kill myself.” But when he came home no one said a word. He changed his clothes. They fed him warm food and he got two orders for his zine. Were things really okay? It was it was a little hard to believe. “I didn’t like The Beatles and I don’t like you!” Devon doesn’t like The Beatles and don’t try to change his mind. Don’t bother making any mix CDs. He’s heard it all a hundred times. “I didn’t like The Beatles and I don’t like you!”

We had a moment. I saw it in your eyes. It happened so sudden. It caught me by surprise. I heard a laugh I never heard you laugh and I saw someone I could hold. I smiled a smile that lasted a while. I saw a future unfold for me and you. We had a moment. I really felt it too. I felt a a softness and a hunger I could give to you. I laughed a laugh I hardly laugh. As I looked in to you. I smiled a smile that lasted a while. What did it give to you? Oh, to you? What did it give to you? We had a moment, but I’m not a romantic fool. Sometimes it just happens and there’s nothing for you to do. But I heard a laugh I never heard you laugh and I wanted to hear it more. I smiled a smile that lasted a while and then you looked to the door and you were gone. What did it give to you?

composed by Frank Sinatra, Jack Wolf, and Joel Herron I'm a fool to want you. Such a fool to want you. To want a kiss that can't be true. A love that's there for others too. I'm a fool to hold you. Such a fool to hold you. To seek a kiss not mine alone. To share a kiss the Devil has known. Time and time again I said I'd leave you Time and time again I went away But then would come the time when I would need you Then these words I'll have to say…. I'm a fool to want you. Such a fool to want you. To seek a kiss not mine alone. To share a kiss the Devil has known. Time and time again I said I'd leave you Time and time again I went away But then would come the time when I would need you Then these words I'll have to say…. Take me back, I love you. Pity me, I need you. I know it's wrong. It must be wrong. But right or wrong I can't get along without you.

I used to be so young. I had pins of bands on the strap of my bag that you never heard of. People used to call me “hipster” but now they call me “Mister”. I used to be so young. And I was always in love. I was so crushed out. Huh, what was that about? Cuz it was always someone. It almost didn’t matter who cuz I was always blue without somebody to love. I used to be so young. And I was so dumb. I was so, so dumb. Now I can’t remember the last time that I simply spoke my mind and you’d have to walk away cuz there’s nothing you could say. I used to be so young. I was twice as much fun though I dressed like a bum. Young dumb and full of cum. I was dying to impress but now my cards are at my chest and I could use a rest. And I’m glad I’m not so young. And I’m glad I’m not so dumb (not as dumb). And I’m glad that I’m not so young.

Oh my crazy mother. How I love her. Floating by on childhood memories but what have you done for me lately, Mom? Oh my crazy mother. How I miss her. If she had wings, would she fly to me? As it is, not much to say to her son. You don’t owe me anything. My! Isn’t that big of me!

Composed by Harold Arlen and Yip Hardburg Say, it's only a paper moon sailing over a muslin tree. But it wouldn't be make-believe if you believed in me. Say, it's only a canvas sky hanging over a muslin tree. But it wouldn't be make-believe if you believed in me. Without your love  It's a honky-tonk parade  Without your love  It's a melody played in a penny arcade It's a Barnum and Bailey world. Just as phoney as it can be. But it wouldn't be make-believe if you believed in me.

about

"Young Dumb And..." by Jemmy Joe showcases his move away from traditional folk music styles and into classic pop sounds. Influenced by the OTHER older style of American music, he sought to deliver a reinterpretation of the jazz standard of song writing with his individualistic voice and perspective.

Jemmy Joe is adorably sincere. You don't know whether to laugh out loud or put your hand to your chest and just sigh. Though seeking to writing new Gershwin or Beatles' tunes, it seems no one but this one man could have written these particular songs.

about

Jemmy Joe Olympia, Washington

Jemmy Joe is a twin. An unreliable narrator. An acquired taste. Mixing traditional folk, jazz harmonic taste and a sardonic optimism, Jemmy Joe has been making music for no one his entire, god damn adult life. Though he has very little to show for it, it is the train he is on and will not be jumping off any time soon. ... more
