Pre-pandemic I did a podcast with my best man, Guire McGuire. It was all about the arts and culture of Olympia. We'd talk with musicians, the local Rabbi, small business owners and people like that. But mostly we had on comedians because the Oly comedy scene was straight fire. Like, it was really, really cool. When I moved to Oly, I thought I'd dig the music. And I did and do. But the comedy scene was more interesting and fun. One of the things I loved was the scene was strong enough to have comedy roasts. The folks performing all knew each other, the audience kinda knew all the personalities of the comedians and it was "a thing". I had this idea that Olympia Pop Rocks should have a live event, inviting a selection of the guests we've had on the podcast and we would roast Olympia. I started looking into organizing it the spring of 2020. Duhn duhn duuuuuuuuuuuuhn! Doh! Stupid pandemic!

Having the idea in my head, I thought I could turn it into a song. I really phoned this one in. I barely tried with this song. I talked to two random people about Oly to get the verses, wrote a simple chord progression and played arpeggios on my Yamaha Reface CP. A very quick song to write. I've never actually "played" it: I just recorded the keys and then wrote out the words real quick and recorded it. Does it show?
