Memes are art. Memes are culture. Memes are the ideas our society is thinking about. There is a lot of pathos, insight and wisdom to be found on a square copy pasta image with impact font, as well as the lols.

For me, the most pleasing format has been the title of this song: hard truths told by adorable animals. A photo of baby monkeys hugging with a thought you can't deny but don't want to think about. I am not going to quote them because many of these lyrics were taken from them, though phrased through my own lens and wording.

I didn't want to project ironic smiling at sadness in the world or mere cynicism. The are things that are hard for me to acknowledge, but unavoidable. With the surprising death of a friend recently, my thoughts on him are a huge influence on many of the lyrics. Ben is all over this song.

The music was written nearly ten years ago for a song I could never get the words right to. A pretty melody, 3/4 time and ukulele is the adorable animals for the hard truths I have in this song.
